Battle of Flodden

Visit the site of the Battle of Flodden, just 4 miles south of Collingwood Hotel.

Clive Hallam-Baker is our recognised expert on the famous Battle and would be delighted to give you a conducted tour either as individuals or as a group. He will also be more than happy to come and meet you at the hotel and give you a tutorial on the Battle.

The Battle of Flodden was fought in Northumberland and took place on 9 September 1513. The battle was between an invading Scots army under King James IV and an English army which was commanded by Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey.

The result was a great victory for the English and a bloody defeat for the Scots. The Battle of Flodden was the largest battle (in terms of numbers) fought between the two nations.
